I have a pair of d35 abs axle shafts if you want to try swapping them out until you get something better. You can have them if you pick them up in federal way or fife.

Also it looks like the passenger side axle tube is separating from the differential, or maybe just the pic.

How long would it take someone to rebuild the rear? Or is it even with the money?

u need to figure out whats wrong with it. Its easy enough to find another axle and swap it for 150-300 from a jy. Just find a 29 spline 8.25 with the same gear ratio as yours and swap em out. Way cheaper than rebuilding it.

I don't know how to diagnose this kind of issue, the bent flange is just what i was told, I don't have the time or money to go drop my rig off and have some **** charge me a arm and a leg just to look at it, I'd rather get a new axle, watch a couple YouTube vids and do it my self...

You aren't jnderstanding what Tim (Oleblue) is telling you. If your axle is a stock geared open differential setup. You literally can pick up a good used one hub to hub for less than th parts to fix your axle so, even if you did the work yourself the JY 8.25 is still the cheapest way to go.

Yes, as long as your Jeep isaaa YJ. YJ axles spring pads have to be moved for use in an XJ.

A yj axle is not bolt in. I think your confusing the use of jy (junk yard) and yj (type of jeep). Any axle out if an xj (Cherokee) will be direct bolt in. What you need to check is the gear ratio though because miss matched gears will tear your transfer case apart. You currently have a c8.25 axle which is stronger than the Dana 35 which is a more common axle in the xj. So if you're worried about strength or just want to do it "right" the first time shop around for another 8.25. If you just need something now to get you by and can't find an 8.25 or aren't worried about strength because you don't beat on your rig then the D35 will do you just fine.
