so i talked to tim the other day and it sounds like EVERYONE is meeting at 8am. even the busy wild crew. so everyone meet at 8 and choose who you wanna ride with. i have a full jeep so i cant take anyone
.....and you have already hit me up to let Bad Luck Matt ride with me....lol!!!
Oh well, looks like we won't be having any snow to deal with. If I can't keep it between the ditches on the forest service roads I will be a real mess on the trails....lol.
I got my Jeep all washed and cleaned up the other day. I found a few new dents from the Walker Valley Sober Up Run. I also found out that my CB doesn't work. I will be going to my local Wally's to get one of those Cobra cheapies they sell before the Elbe run. Remember all we will be operating on channel 33.

Yeah Tim's group, Bobby's group and now you and I all showing up at the campground at 8:00am I figured would give us all a chance for a grip and grin and a group shot. Then, everybody can just split and go to whatever trail they want to run.
Tim, Branden and I will keep our CBs on just in case we need to come into the Busy Wild for a rescue mission...LOL!!

I've been looking at a lot of You Tube videos of various kinds of rigs running the Busy Wild at different times of the year I.E. different levels of muddy and water. From what I've seen it really doesn't look all that bad. The super deep spots must all have bypasses or else nobody got any of the really deep spots on video. It doesn't look like a trail I would be afraid to try. The people I did see having problems looked like they would have done much better had they been aired down. I am still running all the other trails first. That was just my $.02 on the Busy Wild.

Yeah I would like to actually see the busy before i made any decision. And I got to scratch the silverado, he should be picking up a XJ tonight. On a side note my boss some how thinks he could easily get 2000 for a bone stock 88 XJ. I told him to lay off the meds.
If the 88 is really super straight, with low miles, the optional rear D44 and has the Laredo, Limited or other upper end package he might get that but, I really doubt it.
Thats fine about the Silverado being replaced by an XJ. I still want as many in the group as possible to be XJs.
I just looked at the whether forecast for the Elbe area for Saturday. It is supposed be a high of 43 degrees with 60% chance of precipitation. So, I'm thinking very cold for rain but not cold enough for snow and lots of rain.

Most guys who run the busy know what they are doing, and with bias ply tires it can be tough to tell visually how low the tire pressure it. I haven't done it before but I have been told that the really deep holes have bypasses, but there are a couple holes you do have to drive through that can get deep depending on how much rain there has been. For me the biggest concern is all the really tight and twisty corners. From what I have heard when wet it is nearly impossible to get around many of the corners without taking body damage and/or loosing a window. Plus there are several spots where you need a generous helping of skinny pedal to make it through and that can lead to breakage. I spoke to a guy who ran an XJ through it last year when it was really wet and he said he dented every panel, lost 2 windows, blew a bead, and broke his track bar.Originally Posted by BuckB91XJ

I have sustained all of that damage before except for the two broken windows. I am prepared with a spare track bar rod end and a spare tire. Any new dents would just add to my XJs character. I don't like broken windows though. I enjoy the option to rollup all windows and turn on the heater when I get cold...lol. I won't be running the Busy Wild with you and Tim, first thing. I am going to run the other trails first. If they prove a challenge and take all day great! However, if we breeze through the other trails I will have to run the infamous Busy Wild too.

I am having second thoughts about running the Busy this weekend. Not so much from a concern about damage or breaking stuff, but more because I want to hang out and wheel with everyone and wont get to do that if I am stuck on the Busy Wild all day. Plus I have only wheeled through the other trails at Elbe once before and it was not a very wet day. With the recent weather they should be pretty sloppy and fun this weekend. I like your idea better, run all the other trails with everyone else and if there is enough time left, tackle the busy last. I know Tim is going to give me a lot of crap if I don't run it with him, but I really want to meet and wheel with new people. If we don't have enough time to run it this weekend we should definitely plan a Busy Wild run in the near future.
