so anyway, went wheelin' yesterday and the Jeep was GREAT! ran good and could climb a mountain. but today I started it up (startd fine) was going to get it licensed and it just died, right in the middle of the street, no power to anything. got it in a parking lot and there was power again, but it won't start now...anyone in the Vancouver area wanna make a couple bucks...lemme know. 'cause I don't know anything about this truck.
Will it try and start/ crank? Could be your CPS, could be your alternator/dead battery, maybe your starters fried, etc. Start testing everything.
Can you jump it? Does it have fuel? Voltage good? No melted wires? Plug/unplug all the sensors (TPS, CPS mainly).
If I was your way I'd gladly stop by and take a look but obviously...I'm not. Try searching on NAXJA.org if you can't find anything that helps here. NAXJA has pretty much every tech topic covered in it, and every situation recreated twice. (Not saying it's a better site then this, but it's an alternative source in the worst case)

All I'm saying is, if you have this problem again but in the middle of no where, being able to fix it because it's happened before and you know what to do can be the difference of getting home or not.
You don't wana be "that guy".

If you ever plan to go wheeling, that's not the attitude you should have. Get to know your rig so you can diagnose problems on the spot.

ok, so I got it running again. I think the problem was just a dirty, or in this case oily plug. the elbow that the oil filter goes on leaks a little on the engine block side and I think oil got into the plug for the coil and made it lose contact. in any case, it runs again
