Head Lights
Help...
I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee. For some strange reason the head lights will not come on. I checked the fuse and it OK. I don't see any broken wires, all other lights are working.

Help with the Headlights
I have searched and searched, so please forgive me if this information is posted elsewhere.
My mother's 1999 Grand Cherokee headlights have a problem. Now I know the switch on steering column is part of the problem. I can handle that. What I don't understand:
What I have done:
1. changed every fuse, relay, bulb etc
2. checked all wires
3. voltage is only off by .5 the driver's side being .5 higher than the right
4. the driver's side are normal the passenger side lights all of them in headlight contraption are dim.
5. if the .5 voltage difference is causing this ... any one point me where to trace the lines too?
6. could this be a bad ground somewhere and if so where?
BTW as some fluke. I had the problem with the tail not locking with remote lock or with manual lock. After working on headlights it now works.
Thank you for any and all help you can provide.
For those of you out there that seriously know what you are doing. What is up with the mechanics that work at dealerships and other places? I am a woman, and I just love tinkering with cars. I am just amazed that these guys don't seem to have a clue. Are they just trying to rip me off or could it be I live in the worst place in America to live in? Just curious and covered in grease and bleeding and I thank you very very much.

They are out to rip you off. 90% of them that is. I try everyday in my shop to help myself and customers in every way. A customercame in for a alignment...79.99. I looked at his tires, all wearing evenly. Took them off, rebalanced, rotated and put them back on. Told the gentlemen to drive it and see if that solved it before it got $$$. Vibes went away. He left 80 still in pocket and I didn't have to play with tie rods, ect. for a while.
There's the mechanics that are money hungry then there are those who love the automobile for what it really it. A piece of art, a blank canvas that you make your own with your own touch. Those are the people you want working on your vehicles. Off my soapbox now
