Default ZJ front driveshaft for XJ front

I've pushed my front axle about 1" forward. I know an xj auto driveshaft is longer than my front but having a helluva time finding one locally. A buddy of mine had a Zj front hell give me. But I'm unsure if it'll work for the front of my Xj.

99 4.0 ax15 231.

Appreciate the help

Nope waaaaaaay too long. Find a front DS from an AW4-equipped XJ. The AW4 is about 1" longer therefore the transfer case sits further back.

Unless you're lifted of course... Does your current DS fall apart?

depend on which ZJ you are refering to.. there were 4 or 5 different shafts used in the ZJ. Some of which will fit some of which will not.. A tape measure will aswer your question than we can over the internet.

I have. In case I end up ordering a Tom woods.

The Zj shaft came from a 4.0 aw4 231 t case grand so I'd think it would work. Hoping at least. Gonna throw it in today and see

Okay did you plan on sharing this number or are we supposed to guess...? If you measured the space between your yokes already why didn't you just measure your buddy's ZJ shaft?

$400? Walk away laughing. I had one rebuilt recently for $135. As for Rockauto, they are great..... until something goes wrong. Then it's YOUR fault and expect to pay shipping and restocking fees to get a refund, IF you get a refund.
