Well, howdy, thought i would reply to the issue as for the batt on the K&N cone filter side..

What I use on the terminals of the battery is heavy heavy grease.
slather the heck outta it. Keeps any corrosion from batt terminals from "flyin" into the intake of the filter.

works for me.

That's what I thought too!!! But just to make boss man happy I'm still going to spend the extra 20 bucks and get the battery box!!!! Then he can't say anything! Some times an extra 20 bucks is worth not having to hear the crap you will get lol
