One thing I hadn't seen mentioned is did you get a new radiator cap? If you're puking coolant out of the reservoir, that can be a symptom of a failed rad cap, which won't hold the proper pressure and cause overheating (or undercooling at least).

I also have the B&M #70264 mounted in our 'yota RAV4 and our GMC Canyon p/u.......have mounted that unit in numerous other vehicles over the years. Never had even a single issue......ever.

We installed a B&M #70264 auxiliary cooler. Since it is 1.5" thick vs .75" thick, it has a smaller footprint than the .75" thick units, thus covering a smaller area of the a/c condenser and radiator. The B&M instructions say for max tranny cooling, mount the cooler in front of the a/c condenser, directly behind the grille, inline with and after the OE stock rad mounted cooler. This is what we came up with 4 years ago and all is still good today.
Oh and yes i did also replace the rad cap.16 psi

I was thinking of doing a tranny cooler once i get all this mess figured out. but how did you go about installing the lines to it? when i replaced the radiator i had to deal with that F-ing stupid "quick" disconnect. it caused me hours of frustration and cursing as i eventually broke the angle inlet off the old rad and had to pry it apart with small screwdrivers. is there a way you mod this out with compression or bard fittings when you do the aux trans cooler?

Doing it that way, tranny fluid is 1st cooled in the OE factory rad mounted cooler and then 2nd cooled when passing thru the new auxiliary cooler, before being returned back to the tranny.
