Default XJ seat replacement

Anybody know whether the front bucket seats (and the rear bench as well) from a '99 XJ, transfer over easily as a straight swap to my '95XJ? If not and I need to reuse my original seat slider brackets /platforms , will the '99 seats bolt straight up to my '95 brackets? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Ron

No, they will definitely not. Neither the brackets, nor the seat, will match across that gen1/gen2 boundary. The floor setup, the brackets, and the holes in the seat are all different, as the guy who built my last Cherokee learned the hard way.

Yet a search of the junkyard parts thread reveals:

Oh, I could believe that: mine was a 93 and a 99, so it's possible my advice is horrible. I'd measure, just to be sure.

from what I recall mid 1995 they changed to the new style. So 94 and back have the flat floor and 95/96 up have the style with the raised bracket, if that makes sense.

Default Thanks for responding, guys!

Went out to the JY yesterday and got the front buckets, (picked up a pair of later-gen XJ door mirrors also)The seats/sliders look to be a straight swap ! Can't wait to steam-clean them now !
