thats better but if there ust welded to the square steel id be care full if there thru the square and then welded would be better,there made for pulling not jerking

It would just be used if I needed to get pulled out nothing serious like a huge mud hole or something.

Do you know what make your tow hitch is i have the same one on my xj and want to get a hitch for it i forgot to ask if the previous owner had the hitch when i bought it
