I'll have the record show that I used 5 74LED x1 bulbs for the dash cluster and 2 194LED x4 bulbs in the tcase area (I think that's why they're so bright). I have a 2000, from what I've read it seems like some years vary on bulb types. I'd imagine 97-01 are probably the same.

Thank you for the info, I've been wanting to do this but didn't want to take apart the dash to count them, then again when the bulbs arrived

Yes sir, once you open it up look for the brown bulb housings. There's gonna be a lot of confusing looking things if it's your first time like me lol, but just look for brown and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. They twist and pull off, then the bulbs just pull off and the new ones go directly in. That simple.

Since LED bulbs have a positive and negative end, if you put them in the wrong way they wont light up as mentioned earlier. So don't get so excited that you put it all back together and realize half of them don't work. My order came with a piece of paper stating that as a friendly reminder.

Has anybody done white leds? The factory bulbs have a blue film over them, yet the dash lights are green. What would happen if I just used plain white leds?

I'm pretty sure they'd turn a brownish yellow. That's what my switches for the defroster and rear wiper when I took the film off

Ugh. I was hoping for that nice clean white look like new cars have.
Brownish yellow sounds a lot less appealing...

Alright is it as simple as removing the dash trim and the clear plastic piece?
