Im going to need to swap in a carrier front and rear so i can have the gears i want... is it possible to get the carrier out of some other model pickup for the D44 and maybe even the gears if there geared with what i want anyway? ive seen D44's under pickups with 4.56's already and i would imagine they would all work the same? what about the D30? im pretty much stuck buying a brand new carrier and gears for it huh? thanks for the time!!

these arnt that bad of a price i guess for new... but it says wont fit posi type internals... but would work with my own locker right? thanks again!!

actually anyone got there stock d44 ring and pinion with the 3.07 gears? would have been in a automatic with the d44? would be awesome! thanks!

why do you need a new carer
are you gearing over 4.56

yeah... leaning towards 4.88's but maybe 4.56's... this will be later on but if im going to have to regear then i may as well do it with what im planning on for later... but in reading for awhile now im thinking i might just try and find someone with either the old stock 3.07 gears out of a d44 or the stock 3.54 gears for a dana 30...that way i only have to regear one of them and i can at least get it under the XJ... and the gears should be cheap if i can get a used set from someone thats already regeared up high which im sure theres alot... its just getting them to see i want them... lol... im thinking ill go higher later on now... cheaper this way...

ebay has 4.88 DANA 30 RING & PINION YUKON GEARs $183.94
When installing this gear in a differential that was originally set up with 3.08 - 3.54 gears, a carrier is required $59.00

probly better luck finding a dana 30 with used 3.54 ring and pinion... would be better gearing size too...

think id rather find 3.54 gears out of a stock d30 though... should be easier to find a used set... but if i can come across 3.07 gears out of a d44 for cheap id probly do that also... i posted a wanted add...

and your existing front d30 is 3.07

I would think any one that did a gear swap already would kick down their old 3.54 free or very cheep

hey this may be off topic but, i got stock axels with 4.88 gears and a detroit locker(s)
can i use them in a bigger dana? like maby a 44 or 60.?

no you can only use the in the axle housing the are made for

so if they are in a d35 they will only work in another d35

thats what i was hoping... cause i can get new ones cheap so i would think someone would pass them down for cheap too... rather make someone in here alittle doe then someone i dont ever talk to and wont ever talk to again...
