How much of a pain in the butt is it to change? I think mine might be going, my jeep starts right up when its dead cold, but if I let it sit it turns over alot to start, I replaced everything except a cam sensor and the crank sensor

I figured out that if your left forearm is smaller than a one Qt. mason jar the job can almost be easy. 3 in. extension to a universal, then a bunch more extension to get down by the cross member. Then reach up past the front DL with your left to hold it. Don't know if you are 7/16-11mm, or torx.
I'm glad I tied a long string to my old wire plug, made it allot easier to feed the new one up having that fed through.

What you do is look between the break booster the throttle body and engine and fire wall. You should see a wire I think it's off the engine kinda by the injector rail.. Or on it.. ( it's been a while since I've looked at it) follow that down it'll be on the top of the transmission. What you do is take a can of electrical connection cleaner and spray that clip!!! At the top if it runs good for a while ( mine ran great for a month ) and then gets bad again then that's what it is and it should be replaced

I planed on doing it from the top with a crap tone of extensions. Not sure the bolt size but Dix should know! And don't forget your magnet on a stick! When you un bolt it I'd bring out the bolt(s) with the magnet!

i just took em out with my fingers after they were loose.

you can take buytle tape in the socket and thatll hold the bolt into the socket like glue!!!

i know mine werent inverted torx they were 6 point heads. one 12in ext and a 6in should be all you need. plus the swivel attachment of course. its rediculously easy after you do it once. people make it sound so hard.

If your left arm won't fit past the drive line it's a little more changeling! Pretty sure if it's a hex, it's 7/16, (same enough to 11mm.) Some do have Torx I guess. Hate it when they throw that **** in.

$174? Where?? A little price gouging going on if they are asking that kind of coin for a Mopar unit.

Just bought an OEM Mopar crank sensor for my 99 auto 4.0 last week.

$50.49 plus shipping. HERE:

https://www.moparonlineparts.com/

Put a new one in. Considering it is the most important sensor in the engine, (and that it is a very common failure) why take a chance with one that may crap out on you and leave you on the side of the road or the trail. Go with an OEM Mopar unit as there is no lack of threads of people that have had issues with aftermarket units.

I'm in Canada, when I buy parts to replace on my jeep they are ALWAYS first line and my buddy gives them to me at his price not list unless he's changed his mind with out telling me!
