Didn't make it to the yard today musta happened for a reason! But I warmed up the jeep this morning and there was a mild squeak and I went to crappy tire to get some belt dressing.. Fine at idol.. Checked the belt tension fine!!! Belt it self is fine too. Put your foot down and it was a wretched squeal!!but the bearings in the water pump are going. There is play in it when you pull on the pulley back and forth. The belt dressing seemed to make it worse! Not bad though If it's the original my baby turned 14 this year! Just so happens I have one from the scrap yard in my basement so that's tomorrow's project! who knows how long it's gonna last but I'll just grab another one in the spring when they start having 50 bucks all you can carry days again.

The parts I get from the yard normally are meant to be field spares .. I'm still broke from the holidays so it'll have to do!

I tightened my belt because of sqeeling so many times BUT I did it as I would have for many other cars the Jeep belt has to be TIGHT -tighter than u would expect but it caused the sqeel to leave and no harm to any parts-belt dressing is JUNK. Keep tighening until you feel uncomfortable and you will be on your way

Hey there drive...It's a supper crucial part, at the peak of the pyramid. There have been problems with the "econo " brands and it's not the easiest part to change. Considering you might change it once or twice in the life of the Jeep, allot of guys like to go OEM. I just installed a Napa "premium" myself.
