i know it was mentioned before, but have you put a mechanical gauge in place of the oil pressure sensor? Are you using the correct oil filter? If the threads on the filter are close enough to grip into the oil filter housing, but not good enough to hold onto when it build pressure. I've had this happen to me doing an oil change on a customers car. Parts department gave me the wrong filter.

I'm pretty sure the oil pump is effed. I was going to change it today but I was also going to replace my broken axle shaft and found my diff was also destroyed so I crawled out from under it before depression set in.

I bought a Melling high flow pump from Auto Zone. It came with a new strainer wheras the regular flow pump did not and was only a few dollars cheaper.

Now my oil pressure is around 60. I have seen 45 at the lowest and have seen it swing up to 75 when it's cold and working.

BUT NOW ... I have an oil leak at the rear of the engine. It looks like the rear main seal but I replaced that and it's still leaking the same. The oil seems to come from behind the flywheel cover.

Anyone have any theories?

When you say stick, I assume you mean with RTV? The first time I did not use any RTV. The second time I put RTV on both the oil pan and the bottom of the block. Then I stuck bolts through the pan to hold the gasket in place and raised it up to the block.
