Hey guys, so I bought a 1990 Cherokee with a 4 liter/auto a few months back and recently it started giving me trouble when I want to accelerate. So when you start the motor it starts every time but after about 5 seconds of cranking. Then when I step on the gas there's a hesitation and sometimes it dies. If I step on the gas lightly it will go through the RPM but if I hit it too hard then it'll die. What could be the problem?

 

Fuel pump could be going out.

 

After that fuel pressure test, clean throttle body really good. Especially the port where the IAC bolts on. Use a new gasket on re assembly. The TPS does not like water or liquids, adjust tps after reassembly. The IAC tip can be gently wiped with rubbing alcohol, don't pull or twist pintle end, just wipe.
