I know iv asked this before but I got a LOT of play in my steering. Like literally a foot. Iv heard it can be bazillion things but how do I diagnose it???????

 

here's one for ya when i turn my left blinker on if the steering wheel is in the right spot, about straight, it will turn the hazards on. once i start turning it stops. do you think that would be the clock spring and how would i go about testing that.

also it's not every time

 

I would guess it's an intermittent grounding issue.

 

What you need to do is get at least the front end up on jack stands so the tires are no longer on the ground, then get a helper inside to basically shake the steering wheel while you look and feel underneath (oh ho ho ho). Worn bushings and loose bolts should become apparent

 

X2 i would bet its the steering box but it could be anything. Do this^^^

 

What would be causing my thrust angle in the rear to be -.38 degrees? Factory spec is -.15 to .15

 

Might be time to upgrade to a Durango box

I plan to have my engine rebuilt by a reputable shop in my area, cost for a rebuilt 4.0 through them is $1200 no core, longblock with everything except oil pan valve cover and timig chain cover. Its $2000 total for it installed.

My question is that is there any parts i could buy and have them install that would help with performance?

Like stroker paets but not a full stroker?

Cam?
Crank?
Lifters?

I dont want a full stroker and dont want to run higher octane fuel just looking for some extra power and torque.

Look into a free flowing exhaust, an intake, 4-hole injectors, and a 60mm bored throttle body for the biggest bang-for-your-buck upgrades. Anything internal means $$$.

 

Hey yall, where did you enter with your wire when installing lights on your roof rack? Like 4 arcoss the front? I was wondering if I can go down through that little rubber button in the middle of the roof? Also, what are some cheap little flood lights that I can mount one on the rear and one on the side of my rack? Thanks!

 

Just buy a good crate motor. A solid one will be less than that, and it will be warrantied (Which 90% of shops don't do!) I bought a very recently rebuilt (With numbers-matching papers to prove it!) motor for my Jeep and it's an absolute piece of Junk for what was paid to do it, but the shop won't touch it because it doesn't have any kind of warranty. It smokes a lot and the rocker arms sound loose or just about shot sometimes. Just go to O'reilley or NAPA and have them quote you one.

I found out why my 4wd pops out.. The linkage has a part that sticks into the trans. Well the valve or whatever doesnt stick anymore anybody had this problem before ? How do you guys clean your engine i dont wanna mess anything up. I know i can leave the engine on and cover the pcu and what else ?

 

Rebuild ur self ? Full kits is around 700 bucks ! Just take the block to get inspected and horned also u can take the crank and Rods to he measures for bearings! I spend maybe 1300 for my 4.6 stroke (400-500 for machine shop ) that I did my self ( and I run reg gas with no ping )
