Ok new here! I have spent the past several DAYS attempting to find my gremlin. Here we go, Jeep starts decent. Then the whistle starts, ear brake pedal. There seems to be a rubber gasket that has something under it that is moveable. So we start driving, temp doesn't matter. the hissing continues until we hit the brake. one of 2 things occur. first the idle drops drastically or we just stall out. Nothing like highway speeds to a stalled vehicle. headed down now to get a power brake booster check valve and new upper rad. hose. before I go, please say this is something that sounds like it may help.

I have 2 jeeps, one with a strong running engine, and one with a blown head gasket. Can I just do a head swap onto the blown one? Will this work? Has it been done by anyone on here? I would love to get the blown one running as It is a nicer jeep. Thanks

The one sensor you can ignore is the temperature gauge sending unit that lives at the back of the head. 1999 doesn't use that stuff so just leave it in there as a plug.

I am trying not to make a new thread so I am going to try this route first. My 98 Jeep cherokee has an intermittent problem of not wanting to crank. I turn the key to the on position and all the lights come on but i try and start it and nothing. I have to turn the key over repeatedly and eventually it will crank to start. Its not cranking no click no nothing besides the blower motor stopping. I have jiggled the shifter to see about it being NSS in park and neutral. I have tapped the starter to see if maybe it would do anything. Last night I found a list on here that I am having a problem finding again it had things to go over for no crank issues along with other no start issues. Might any of you all know what link or links to help me. This weekend I am going to take apart the NSS and clean it just to eliminate that all together. Thanks guys

I will check this the next time it acts up. It has an optima battery that I put in, in 2009 or 2010. I am not sure if when an optima battery goes it acts the same as a normal battery. Thanks Cruiser I will get back with results when she acts up again.

there's just couple more bolts and it should come down. I have a 97 upcountry factory skid on my jeep. There's only 4 bolts holding it on the rails.
