Well if you work at a parts store, most every one around me has a loan a tool program. Not that you need much; line wrenches, double flare tool, maybe a little bender if you dont get the copper lines(highly recommended) and a one man bleeder kit if you cant find a friend to help bleed them

I am checking the stealerships work, they were supposed to put in a new evaporator core. I peeled it back a little and seems to have been replaced.

-Would are the signs of a bad thermistor?
-What causes the aux electric fan not to cut on?
-What would cause my ac compressor clutch not to engage?
-I have installed new receiver drier, expansion valve and compressor
-any good links relevant to xj's for using an ac manifold gauge? Recover, vacuum, charge?

Default trans replacement 2014 cherokee

Do you have to remove the engine to replace the trans on a 2014 Cherokee active drive 1 system. They are to replace may trans and said the engine has to be removed to get to the bolts. I think that's BS

So I blew up the motor on the 2000 xj
I found a 1998 motor for $350
The question is is this a direct fit?
Especially the exhaust manifold and wiring harness.
Also what mods need to be done?
I need to know fast so I can get it delivered
Tomorrow. Thanks...

So is it worth doing all that?
Or should I keep looking for a 2000 or 2001
Especially with the crappy head issue on the last 2 model years?

From the peak of each mounting rail is 66"

A bow plus the narrow part of eack bracket they go into is 63".

HOPE you can understand what I'm describing.

First what you replacing the trans on a brand new vehicle?

Second why do you care? Its got to still be under warranty so whatever they have to do is on them.

Whats the issue?

The barebones engine is a direct fit. In fact, everything except for a couple minor differences in the head is the same. Use everything from your 2000 model unless you want to replace half the bloody Jeep. Not worth the effort. Use your original CKP ("CPS"), CMP, manifolds, wiring, coil rail, all that.

The only modifications you need to do are to install the 2000's CMP where the 1998's CMP & Distributor went, and find an alternative mounting for the coil rail as the '98's head casting does not have those holes.

Here's some inspiration:
