Ditch the heap of **** FRAM and check to see if the connector on the oil pressure sending unit (right on top of it) is soaked with oil.

Yup. First 2 things to do. Go to Napa and get a 1085 filter.

So firm gaurd isn't a good oil filter? What's wrong with it? Just bad quality?

If you want your jeep to be junked ASAP, then a Fram filter is a good candidate

I'm not really sure i think it was a Bosch, but it's done it with two types of oil filters

No noises?

Do a test with a manual oil pressure test gauge.

While under my Cherokee today I found my exhaust pipe was smashed almost 1/2 the size about 3" down from the bottom of the manifold. Seems like I read this is normal but I can't find it.

It appears to me that this would severely restrict my air flow. Is this correct ?

It's OEM. It's an emissions thing, but you'll get better flow if you replace it.

Still trying to sort out my lack of reverse lights and plate light. The plate light worked a few weeks back and I did change out the ba10 for a ax15. From what I could see on the ax trans there is only one switch with two wires so I swapped the old Peugeot connector onto the ax trans.

What fuse is for the lights in question. My jeep is a base 88 4.0.

It was disguised as a clearance point when in actuality it was put there to heat up the catalytic converter for the EPA tests.

Be warned though, if you just put one in there without the "crush" and don't have at least 3" of lift, there may be contact while offroading.

Refresh my memory: It could contact the driveshaft?

If you have no lift and route the new uncrushed headpipe like the original, the shaft can contact it.

With 3" of lift or more, routing like original should be OK.

I have my exhaust guy re-route the pipe no matter what so there is no possibility of contact whether lifted or not. Factory coulda done that re-routing if they didn't need the "crush".

I have 4.5" lift.
If I change out that pipe will it affect my emissions? I have a hard time passing as it is.

No guarantees from me. It was put there to get the converter to work SOONER in the EPA drive cycle.
