I was just curious of the difference and how many miles they'll actually get out of the tire

Throttle body question.. while checking for a vac leak and pushing cigar smoke through it i found that with the tb blocked off the only only place i had a leak was out the side where the post for the butterfly comes out and attaches to the cables .. it was minute the point that im pretty sure there wouldnt be any real leak as the iac opening would always pull more and keep the pressure lower than needed for it to leak .. but the question i have is there supposed to be any sort of oring that fits over the post and fits between where the cables attach and the body of the tb?

Angry stumped

husband has a 97 lorado v8. has amp and speakers installed and after a few days the voltage gage would drop, wouldn't make any issues, could turn truck off and back on and this only happened occasionally. one day coming home from work the truck shut down, had no power. got it jumped, got it home and it lost all power again.
replaced the battery cable ends and it was needed and they were loose on the battery post, nothing.
checked fuses, all okay
replace cpm or whatever it is(the computer by the firewall) nothing, unhooked amp wire and fired right up.
ran perfect for about a week and then started needing jumped again.
replaced alternator, gage went up went to turn it over, everything dropped and is dead again.
all stereo equipment is now removed from vehicle and still dead
totally STUMPED

What?!

If I painfully read that correctly, I say you need to start by telling us if it's charging or not. What voltage is on the battery with the Jeep running? How about not running?

We cannot get a read on anything as it is totally dead.

Default steering column

I have a 91 Jeep Cherokee Laredo and need to change the steering column, do I have to use the same model year? if not, what years are interchangeable?
I'm a first time DIYer, thanks

What does your key look like? Double sided or single sided? It should be a Chrysler column. If so, you can use 91- 95 easily.

I don't know exactly when they swapped from the GM style column to the Chrysler column.

So..
Was gonna just wire my fan to a fuse in the box under the hood that received power only with the ignition on..
I went through like 4 different ones (blower, ignition run, and a couple other) and they each would power my fan with the ignition off..

Where can I run the hot wire to only come on with the ignition? I have an inline fuse hooked up (not that it matters).

when we took the alternator off when also took the battery out and put it on the charger. charged from about noon to 4 give or take. we put the new alternator on, hooked the battery back up and then tried to start the jeep. (the battery sparked on hook up so we knew there was power.) put the key in the ignition, door dinged, batter gage went up to 14 turned key, gage dropped, no door ding no click dead again.

When you do that you need to be sure to run it thru the relay. Those fans pull a lot of juice.

You have a bad connection somewhere... Check all the grounds, triple check the battery connections, sell the Jeep.
