Hey have any of you used the rustoleum truck bed coating? I'm curious how durable it is. Should I clear coat it too? I painted my bumper and hood to try it out. If all goes well I'll do the rest of the jeep once I fix some dents and rust.

I got the spray stuff and the roll on stuff. The roll on stuff is absolutely garbage. It goes on like tar and real messy. The spray stuff goes on real nice so I hope it holds up nicely.

I removed a ton of useless stuff from the engine bay and would like to remove the wires from the loom for those. Would i be able to cus them out and heatshrink the end and have no issues or will it mess things up?

Prep well and the spray stuff lasts pretty good if it's going on a surface that doesn't get foot traffic. I've had it sprayed on the hood of both of my Jeeps for over a year now.

The only part that's peeling is the part where I neglected to prep.

Anybody got a good reason why me randomly messing with my melted to hell fitchbox would make me start blowing fuses completely unrelated to the fitch box? Was getting a pulse from the interior lights to the beat of the radio then about 20 minutes later the radio shuts off with the interior lights with it. Figure its the fuse, but still a strange coincidence if it is one.

That wiring connection didn't got hot as hell for no reason. It just happened to been the weakest connection so it got hot. I'd say something somewhere else actually faulted.

What all fuses are popping? Just the radio? Got an amp?

That's what I did. I scuffed the paint then primed it and scuffed up the primer then sprayed the hood. It looks really nice.

I'm pretty sure i know what killed the fitch box, the coating on my 4 gauge to my amp got rubbed raw and got exposed to the underneath of the back seat.. Arced enough that I figured my amp was toast. Rewrapped the wire and relocated it and havent had a problem since yesterday when i went to use my CB in the first time since forever. Thats when i got under the hood and found this.

All this can be fixed, and the main power to the box from the battery will be replaced with a MUCH larger wire this time.. I'm just confused how touching that box is making blow fuses now. And yeah, Its just been the radio so far. But i wouldnt be surprised if they start going crazy when i go to drive it back home. My luck the headlight switch would go out.

Unhook the battery and check continuity to ground on all of those wires, all the radio wires and the amp wires.
