I know this is talked about alot and there was a discussion on it a few days back. But my neighbor and a few other xj guys in my area were telling me not to remove my doors because the unibody will prevent them from going in properly and sealing. I know you guys say its ok, but these guys say theyve done it and had issues with them goin back on. Opinions? Or should I just buy tube doors or half doors to make sure?

Advice*
I went through the same thing with my XJ. I was much happier without the splash guards.
Fix for that is to drill out the hole and use a bolt or pin that fits snugly.

Ya i expect that to happen. That or itll explode instantly.
But seriously these guys are swearing up and down ill never get em to seal right. Ive tried explaining how it wont make a difference but im no structural engineer and cant explain it well.

Take solace in the knowledge that their misguided opinions don't change reality.

Will do that when I have to put the fenders back on my 91
.
But there's still one there holding it then?
What's the proper name for the clips that all the fenders and other things bolt into? I can't seem to find them online (Amazon).

The next closest mounting mount is right at the lower hinge on the door... so you can remove one but if you remove both of them expect the need to secure it some other way.

I cut both of those bolts off a long time ago and tacked the bottom section the of fender to my rocker replacements.

To get the rods that connect to the door lock and handle off the door panel, I turn the plastic clip to pop it off, then the rod slides out the bottom right? On my 99

This will kill your fuel mileage and you waste a lot of fuel. I would take the resistor out.
Thanks for your help. I will be taking it out today!
