Brake cleaner would be fine if you're disassembling everything and cleaning metal parts separately, you'll need TB/Carb cleaner and a soft toothbrush for the sensors and bits.

I installed new rear u-joints today, lubed the slip yoke and changed the fluid in the Xfer case. This got rid of the clunks-bangs & thunks I've been putting up with since my last offroad tirp. The axle u-joint had a few needle bearings MIA so that was most of the noise.
Now it's time to take care of the other noise which seems to be coming from my LF wheel. It sounds like a chain dragging on pavement (best I can describe it) and is pretty much a constant sound. You hardly notice it until your next to a road barrier or a big building and then it sounds loud. Any ideas? 91 XJ, 4.0 L AX15 & NP231. Has 3.5" lift, new LCAs, JKS sway bar discos, good bushings and tie rod ends.

Disassembly ftw! That's what I do lol. If you do make sure to get new gaskets. You'll need to pop off the IAC anyway.
Pop up the front end on jack stands and see if you can replicate the noise without any weight on it. Do you still have the factory debris shield on them discs?

I'm replacing my ccv or pvc valves and i want to put a little cone filter on the end of the one. I was wondering if i had to block up the hole that would be left in the air cleaner box where the hose would have connected?
or fresh air inlet I'm not really sure what they're even called
