One last question... does anyone run the clear lens autopals? I like the way they look.. planning on getting them along with harness/hella bulbs with my next paycheck.

Its actually part of one of the floor panels IIRC. It holds up the rear seat, not sure if there's a structural function. Probably lol

Default 1998 ZJ 4.0: boot-to-plug connection for cylinder 1

First post here! Have a 1998 Grand Cherokee 4.0. Have successfully replaced 5/6 spark plugs, but I can't get the one in cylinder #1 right. Can work the ignition wire boot off the plug and replace the plug, but getting a good connection between the boot and the new plug is a real bear. There's just no access, even with a spark plug wire puller. Am getting a cylinder 1 misfire code. I know the connection is not good--the boot feels loose on that plug--different from the others. Any ideas?

have you tried bending the metal boot where contact is made to get a tighter hold? The ones on grandpa's tractors seem to stretch out and fit loosely after awhile. Just a thought.

So you think it's not snapping down all the way? If so, you can pry the metal plug open a very small bit, carefully, to make it easier to snap on. Or, remove whatever is in the way.

Default Need help badly!!!!

I really hate to try and jack the thread but I really need assistance pleas help me with my 89 Cherokee XJ because I am having really bad problems with my jeep in the mornings if I prime the motor a few times I can get power to the tranny and get some forward momentum for a while but after I go a certain distance (about .5 a mile) I lose all power like the tranny is in neutral it also happens all day. I already tried changing the fuel pump and the tranny pan gasket, filter and fluids with all new parts and it ran good for a while I drove it for about a week with no problems and now I can't even make it to town what could it be plz help!!!

Do your rpm's drop too? Like the jeep is completely dying?

If so I would say its the crankshaft position sensor(CPS).

If not, could be NSS.

Yesterday I was on my friends property doing donuts in the mud and when I put it in 4 wheel drive and would turn it would make a knocking noise but would only when I was turning. Does anyone know what it could be? Good or bad just want to know if I should look into anything
