That's what I just said... lol

Dan sells kits without the tubing.

I'm gonna be changing my motor mounts out and putting in Brown Dog Poly mounts. So while I'm doing that I'm gonna change the transmission mount as well, I was under there today and its pretty much trashed. But I've been searching around trying to find one to put in. I've only been able to find two so far;

This one by Mopar:

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/199...ion_mount.html

and this one by Daystar:

http://www.andysautosport.com/jeep/1...t00000419.html

Are there any other brands you guys recommend? I'm looking for something that's gonna be able to handle anything I need it to. I'm leaning towards the Daystar unless you guys know of something better?

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure brown dog recomends using a rubber trans mount if you use poly bushings in their mounts.

So go rubber on the trans.

You can get em at any parts store.

I just ordered the same motor mounts last night and bought an Anchor trans mount today at Advance. Everything I've read says get the dealer one, but Chrysler stopped selling them years ago. I don't think it matters much among those three brands, but I haven't installed mine yet.

I am looking to replace my leaf springs with new stock leafs. I wanted to replace the perches while I have it apart. Anyone have any idea of the perch size?
How would I tell?
"THERE ARE 4 SIZES OF PERCHES AVAILABLE.
ORV#18267.01- 1 3/4" PERCHES
ORV#18267.02- 2" PERCHES
ORV#18267.03- 2 1/2" PERCHES
ORV#18267.04- 3" PERCHES"
I was think that the sizing had to do with axle circumference but after looking I guess the with means leaf spring width so what I need is stock replacement spring width

Do you own an xj? If so wouldn't it be easy to measure your current leafs?

Also the perches are welded to the axle.....so are your going to cut them off and re weld new ones on? Zero point.

New u bolts. New leafs. New shackles (imho)

That's all you should need

Stock springs are exactly 2 1/2 inches wide (I happen to have my stock springs sitting on the floor, so I just took a tape measure to 'em).

Hey just outta curiousity, what tools would be needed to remove a rear axle? I'm gonna try and go to the jy tomorrow and they have alot of new xjs from '85-'89. Figure if one had a D44 I'd jump on that instantly. I need to find out anyways since if I cant find a D44 I'll take out a 29 spline 8.25 from a newer xj.

Drop the u bolts and shocks. Remove driveshaft. Remove brake line.

Probably 19mm u bolt nuts with breaker bar
18mm shock mounts
8mm driveshaft u joint straps
Cut brake line
