Moth ***** increase octane we use to put them in the gas of our go karts along with a full bottle of octane booster I remember my buddy welded the lobes of the Cam and grinded them smooth and used old handle bars and made duels it shot blue flames out the exhaust
1. I'm planning on buying Spicer 5-760x U-Joints. Only one is bad, but should I replace both? Can anyone recommend a place to buy these?
2. Also, I've got a high pitched whine (dependent on wheel rpm) from the right front wheel area that occurs between 20-50mph and I've confirmed it's not a sticky caliper and is not engine rpm dependent. I'm thinking about replacing the hub assembly (even though it feels great, no play). Your opinion? I'd go with Timkens if I bought any. Only one is making the noise, but should I replace both?
3. Is this the correct valve cover gasket to replace my leaky one with? FEL-PRO Part # VS50458R Perma Dry
4. Where do you guys buy your oil filter adapter O-rings from? The dealership?
Thanks for your time,

Got the jeep to local autozone yesterday to be scanned. Shut off several times on the way there and on the way back. On the way back home it back fired out exhaust twice. The only error that was stored in computer was for failed ignition coil. Figured this is why it backed fired (raw fuel sudden spark POW) Replaced coil, cap, rotor and new set of Champions. Running better and has not shut off or hesitated since. Hope that is all it was.
Just signed up on here today and have a question about wifes 97 Limited 4.0L.
We just purchased this a week ago and have not had any issues until 2 days ago. I am driving along and the jeep just shut off. Luckily I was next to a parking lot so coasted of busy road.
Jeep would not start after this. Acted like was not getting fire.
(The cap, wires and plugs were installed new by car dealer before we purchased.)
What I did in parking lot was check the wires going to coil (pressed in jiggled around etc. no missing connection clips) also jiggled around with the 2 wires going into side of distributer beneath cap. The coil wire going to cap felt securley seated at both ends.
Got back in jeep and it fired right up.
Are there any known issues regarding ignition in these I should check out.
My dad said something about pancake getting cracks in it and to check that.
Afraid for wife to drive now until I feel the problem is fixed correclty.
P.S. I am picking up a 96 XJ SE 2Dr tomorrow in Ohio. Cant wait!
Thank you

Can I use a 98 PCM in my 2000 XJ?
Someone tried to steal my jeep last night and took out the ignition key. Put the PCM into lock down.
I have another parts jeep that I can get a ignition key from and a computer.
Might save me a huge bill from the stealership.

I believe as long as it was from a jeep with the same transmission and engine. 2000 and 1998 didn't change much in relation to those two so you should be fine
Hey All,
I'm having a couple of issues on my '01 XJ and wanted an opinion.
First my brakes got really hard overnight. You can still stop, but you have to strong leg the pedal. I was thinking possibly the vacuum booster. I didn't know if there was a way to test the vacuum system to locate the issue.
Second at the same time as the brakes getting super stiff I started having a start problem. It cranks, but it won't fire. After its cranked it coughs, like their is air being sucked through. If I push down on the gas while cranking it will fire.
I'm not sure if these things are related, but it makes me nervous to drive around without great stopping power and the thought of not getting started...
Thanks

Nobody shoot me here, but I like Rusty's Offroad's 4.5" kit. Seems more complete than most.
