Cleaned alot of the gunk out changed the oil and added seafoam to the engine sounds better so far but to early to tell

 

When I finally decided to change valve cover gasket on my car with 200K miles, everything was clean under cover. Color of all parts (rocker arms etc) was yellow, not black, not brown.
I had the car for about 10 years and used ATF cleaning almost every oil change.
I am going to switch to diesel fuel, it is cheaper.

 

Well oil pressure is up and ticking is minimal dont see very much blow by compared to what it was

 

I've run mine 230K with nothing but oil and it's also clean as a whistle under the valve cover. That isn't uncommon with modern oils and proper maintenance.
You'd have to repeat the 200K miles without the ATF to see if it made any difference, no?
It's harmless enough, years ago it was a better cleaner than motor oil...but that's because motor oil was pretty crummy 30 years ago. Pretty close to no detergent and nasty base oils. These days about the best gentle engine cleaner you can buy is Mobil 1.

Those were after one cleaning. The build up was almost to the top of the lifters ...a flat head some break cleaner and a shop vac

BG109 didn't cut it for me. the rotella and MMO worked better.
