I have an 89 pioneer, battery is good, went to start it and nothing,no clicking or turnover.Starter doesn't engage,I drove it,started it multiple times last time and the guage read 14 amps upon shutting it off the last time,i turned the ignition back on and it read 9 amps and the starter wouldn't turn it over or click.I think maybe could be a wiring problem, need some help please.just had my battery tested it was good, could i have a bad or broken ground wire and if so why would it just"showup"all of a sudden?

if you pulled your batt to have tested, you might have just a loose clamp.

not sure about the 9 amp thing.
but it could just be your NSS. try shifting it into park and or hold the key forward as if you're starting it and carefully move the shifter around the neutral position and see if it starts.

you could also just turn the key on and use a screwdriver on the starter posts.

hmmmmm........here is something......you may not believe this, but here is is,

once upon a time, my battery did the same thing, could not for the life of me figure out what was draining it and not being able to start the jeep.....

turns out the right turn signal bulb/parking bulb connector socket was corroded beyond belief! ergo....shortin battery voltage and draining it every day..

was a PITA to find.... so maybe check all your "HOT" wires, especially externals like the lamps etc.

just my 2 cent worth sir
