Default Wont Start. PLEASE HELP.

Have a 1998 4.0 that won't start. Went for a drive pulled in front of my house. Decided to try starting it again. Won't start. Just put a new electric cooling fan on today. When I turn the key I hear the fuel pump prime. I hear and felt the starter and fuel pump relay tick. DOES NOT CRANK. The stater does not engage. Starter fuse is fine. No issues starting it for the almost month I have had it. PLEASE HELP. Starter? I cleaned the battery terminals and shook the gear shifter. Tried starting in park and neutral. Is it the starter or is it electrical related to the new electrical cooling fan?

Never mind it was the starter. Tapped it with a stick and it started.

Impressive use of tools. Any repair completed with stick gets an A+ in my book!

This!

Definitely time for a new starter. If your jeep has a header by any chance, consider a heat shield/wrap for the new starter.

I replaced the started this morning. Used tools other than a "stick". Just used the stick to see if it was the starter causing issues.

Good news on the fix, the stick comment was a serious compliment. I'm always impressed with improvisation.
