2000 no start after e-fan issue
I have a timer wired in to my electric fan I used the instructions from cherokee talk website:
http://www.cherokeetalk.com/forum/f6...fire-fix-9124/
I came outside this morning to find my electric fan running. Jeep was off, parked in the driveway. I could hear the relay I installed with the mod clicking on and off, and the fan turning on and off. I started the Jeep, drove it around the block, pulled it back in the driveway. It ran fine, but the fan kept switching on and off. I thought maybe it was the relay installed with the mod, so I replaced it with a new one. Same issue--fan running on and off. Then I tried to start it up again, and it won't start. I have battery, it cranks, but it is acting like no fuel or no spark. I have disconnected the e-fan relay mod.
can any one steer me in the right direction as to diagnose the no start?
thanks

Should have a code stored in the CEL. If so, this will start us on the proper path.
On my 96 I also tapped into the coolant temp sender (in thermostat). When I get a no start, also get a code for coolant sensor. Only way jeep will start is if I push gas to floor, which I believe shuts off injectors for 'clearing flood'.

I installed the exact timer about two years ago with no problems at all on my 2000. I have it set at 2.5 mins. sounds like you might of wired up something wrong. Did you just do it or you've had it a while and now its acting up?

ok. It will start if I hold the gas pedal down, and it will run if I keep the idle up with the pedal. As soon as I let off on the pedal it stalls. CEL is off, going to run a scan after dinner.

ok, I ran "dashcommand" app (don't have torque app or android device)
got it to start by holding down the gas pedal (again). It wanted to stall so I had to feather the gas pedal to keep it running. I noticed the short term fuel trims were going nuts. They would go from -8 to +8.....then after about 10 minutes of feathering the gas pedal, I let off and it idled like normal. Fuel trim levels returned to normal. I turned it off, and restarted it...no issues....any ideas?

There should be stored trouble codes, even if CEL does not light. Need to read them.
Input from coolant/engine temp sensor is also used to control injector pulses.

dashcommand said no stored codes or pending codes. I will take it to the store tomorrow to get them to read the codes

went to the auto parts store, they ran the codes and found nothing either......whatever the problem was it is gone now (jeep is running fine) and it never threw a code.

Sorry for the additional trouble. That is strange, I thought for sure there would be stored codes. Not sure what this means, like the issue was something the computer does not recognize or the issue was with a part that is not monitored.
