Ok when I turn the key, it sounds like the starter is working but the solenoid is not engaging the pinion gear to the flywheel. Went and bought a new (rebuilt) starter, installed it and it does the same thing. Tested the old starter with my jumper cables and a screwdriver and it works fine. Shorted the hot and the start on the new starter (while installed) and it sounds like the bendix is extending the pinion and it is definately spinning. So my issue appears to be my pinion is not engaging with my flywheel. #1 why would that change just by sitting, #2 I'm going to try to shim out my starter and see if that helps but why would that be different than factory? Also I did inspect my flywheel, it looks good, I even turned over the engine with my breaker bar to get a different section of teeth but that didn't help either. TIA. Coach

No, I haven't done anything. I did shim the starter and now it's cranking. I just need to work on my no fuel issue. Thanks for the reply. Coach
