I have a project xj classic.When I drive it even at a walking pace turning a sharp left in a cul de sac I feel a distinct wobble in the front end. I did read that it may be a result of bad or broken ujoints on the axle shafts. I pulled both axles and saw no problem with either ujoint. Anyone here have had this experience?

Also, (way off topic}, I am hoping someone from the northern climates may be able to point me to somewhere to buy a trapper hat with an extended back to cover the neck. I worked with someone from eau claire wisconson 10 years ago that had one that extended far down beyond the back of his neck and really would like to find where to to buy one.

 

Have you checked the tires for a flat spot or a cord separation ? and for loose tie rod ends , ball joints , control arm bushings ?

 

I'd say your axle u-joints are getting worn. Probably dry caps.

 

I will take a better look at all of the above again.I'm waiting for the ground to dry out again. Thanks.
