My advise would be to order brass plugs with Allen hex key sockets in them or external male hex heads. Back in the 60's, GM used the external male hex head steel plugs, but I think they were 1/4" taper pipe.

There's very little room behind the exhaust header and they tend to leak after a while, plus finding 3/8" ones may be difficult.

The fitting will be a 3/8 hose barb. I currently run the set up, I needed to verify the thread size because I didnt include it in my notes for some reason.

What are you going to cap the hose barb with? Or am I visualizing this wrong?

This gets away from the stock side of this thread.

The block coolant runs into the bottom port of my turbo then up to the top and over to heater core inlet. Should keep a thermal siphon going after shutdown.
