Default wiring short?

1991 jeep cherokee laredo has some kind of short. My radio, horn, door lock, digital clock, and dome light all quit at once. All of my fuses are good. Fuse box is getting power. No fuses/relays under the hood that control those. I checked all wiring in doors and under the carpet. Where do I got from here?

the door lock; I would check the wiring harness that runs from under dash to inside the door. XJs are known for electrical malfunctions at the door hinge. kind of a bad design by jeep

I don't intend t offend you but have you checked the bulbs in the lights? On the topic of the radio you could check the fuse behind the radio.

If your fuses are good, you don't have a short. You probably have an open somewhere.

Auto or manual transmission?

Any work done to any part of the Jeep recently?

Auto trans. Newish engine. But I couldn't figure out the issue so I just hard wired the brake light switch to the positive cable on battery and it works just fine.

I think the radio, (Memory), door locks? , dome lights & clock all share a circuit that is not keyed.

Does 91 have more fuses inside there sort of below the headlight switch? Anyway I'm thinking maybe it's a fuse somewhere.....(open circuit, like Mark says). Short's generally spark and blow fuses.

All fuses were good under the dash and under the hood. However the only thing that didn't work was my brake lights and flashers.

I'm not much help except to note that brake lights and flashers are not keyed ether. Could be you are just missing one circuit, and the horn just died on it's own...
