haha.. guess I should have read this first before I bought a windshield kit off ebay.. the thing I see all the pro's use is the actual windshield knife with a pull handle to make things easier.. the windshield replacement if I can do it will cost me under $100 everyone else round here wants 200+ to do it, so I guess I will be doing it myself.. going to take out the old busted windshield on mine first the hardest thing i see is cutting out the bottom part as its the hardest to get to.. but as with anything, patience and attention to detail is key.. wish me luck folks!

Cut the top, then the sides, then push out the top from the inside and cut the bottom loose from the inside with a blade. Done it that way hundreds of times.

I'm almost afraid to ask what a "ebay windshield kit" is, are the medical expenses covered as well?

I've done one install and removal, you will break more glass then its worth removing... But as for install place your seal around the glass, then ad twine or thin nylon rope about half the diameter of clothesline, 1 1/2 times around the inner seal, apply sealant around rim have help on the outside to hold and position glass while you're on the inside pulling the twine in adn around the frame, should pop right in...

although it sounds straight forward there's no way I'm doing mine, I had a quote for 135 installed and $15 extra if you want to use a new rubber seal....

I called around & got a price for $174 for a new glass & install. The JY was over $200- installed & Safe Lite was just shy of $300.

It pays to shop around.
