Default Window won't roll down?

So my drivers side window has been super funky and I'm trying to figure out what's up with it. It has a tough time rolling up and down if i don't push it, and most of the times it won't move at all. You can hear the motor working, but it sounds as if there's something keeping the window from rolling. I took the door panel off and if I push the window while trying to rolling it, it kinda helps. Any ideas as far as what it can be? Did it skip off the track or spun a gear?

What year? Late 90's were prone to wear the cables in the door jam inside of the rubber tube. The earlier models have the wiring harness below the floor where the driver's feet smash. They fray underneath the carpet.

You can test for power at the switch on older models pretty easily. You can usually find wiring diagrams in Chilton's manuals, Haynes' manuals, and in databases or other books at your local library.
