I realize there are probably thousands of helpful threads on this general issue already but my issue is pretty specific, here’s what I’m dealing with. I’ve got a 1999 Cherokee, good shape, well taken care of. I was putting some fog lights in the bumper where the stock fog lights would have gone if I had any. Long story shot, while running power from the fuse box (passenger side kick panel area) to the new switch I was installing, I think I shorted out the wires, everything was working fine and then while fiddling with the switch wires I believe the ground and power wires touched. Anyway, the interior lights kind of flickered/dimmed for a second then all was well. Except now I had no power coming from the specific spot I was using to run power to the switch. And I realized a couple other accessories in the jeep weren’t working (12v power outlet specifically) so anyway after a lot of research I took the fusebox out, took it apart, figured out where the power was coming from for that specific area of the fuse box (it’s basically divided into four separate sections with four different power sources) I ended up splicing a new power source to the now dead power source. I’m going to try to add some pictures to make this already too long post, a little clearer. Anyway everything worked fine except now my passenger speaker won’t work (just the front one) and my passenger window won’t roll down. Neither the driver side nor passenger side switch will work, everything else works fine. I’m assuming the event with the wires grounding and my issues are related seeing as they happened at the same time and it’s all that same side of the jeep, in fact the speaker and window are both in the passenger door (obviously) can anyone offer any advice that might prevent me from tearing into the door and tracing a million feet of wire. I know this post is super long but I wanted to give as much information as possible, thanks in advance for any help. Edit: forget the pictures, they won’t upload. I’ll try again later, for reference you can just look up a xj fuse box and find a google image of it, it was fuse 29 (which is empty on my jeep) that I used for the switch power.

So I figured it out, really simple. There’s a plug on the right side of the fuse box (not part of the fuse box) that was unplugged, I guess I forgot to plug it back in. Anyway I know no one else replied to this thread but maybe it this will help someone someday.
