Just did this with a paper clip. Pushed it as far down as i could. Idk if anyone has had a fire caused by this but ill keep an eye on the wires. Now I don't have to listen to my passengers complain about me locking the windows on em. Thanks alot for this

Just did this on my 99 XJ. Saved me a bundle and some time. I used a short piece of insulated wire instead of a paper clip because it will stay in place better. I guess my paper clip was too skinny.
Hi, thanks for this seemingly easy fix. Now I am the only jeep owner who has to ask how to even get to these wires! The only thing which seems to be detachable is the plastic feet trim on the lower side of the entrance which has 2 screws. But the wires should be directly next to the fuse box, no? I don't see a fuse box on the picture. How is it done :S
By the way, i have a right-steerer. Thanks

If so I would check out the passenger side kick panel. it's actually a nut that holds both kick panels in place.
Thats assuming you have the newer model 97-01 as you neglected to put in your vehicle information so we can give you a correct answer.
If you are having trouble locating the wires in the kick panel, they will definately be within the door by the master switch. Remove the door panel and you will see them (yellow and tan).

So, I'm able to roll my pass window down from the drivers controls but not the pass control.. The pass front is the only window I have a problem with.. Both back doors work. I'm thinking I may not have this issue but maybe something else..I tried jumping the lock out to see but still no luck.. I check for power on the pass side door switch and can't find any unless I hit the down button on the driver side.. Power in the purple with white stripe wire. Anyone know which color wire should have power for the pass side switch? thanks!
Oh, 99 xj, thanks

Is the fuse panel on the right next to your gas pedal?

Great Idea just fixed mine after replacing the switch once.
