The white connection is a fuse holder, just his protection in the case his wiring change develops a high current draw, which no one else has reported. So no difference in t-ing the two wires together.

Default I've done it now...

Hey gang, so I read pretty much ever post on this page..I did what you said about putting the paper clip into the tan and yellow wires. That worked like a charm! But I wanted a better fix. So I used a butt connector to connect the yellow wire with the tan one..That didn't work.. So I thought if I were to just bypass the whole thing than that might work..Here's a picture to help you see what I did. Now all the windows work but only by the drivers controls. Any chance there is a solution?.. I guess I was just confused on the post that said you could do it this way..

Default Doorless

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I wanted to know if any of yall running doorless have used this method and it works. When you take the doors off an XJ you have to unplug the plug that is shown in the picture. I'm was going to try to use this method but without the door plugged in but wanted to if anyone else has tryed it first.

I'm having the same issue with my '92. the switches are not the same as the later model. Did you have any luck with a solution?

I always just tie the two together with a scotch lock. About the only time I use these. Easy, removable in case you get a replacement lock out switch..

Hi hate to beat a dead window horse but here is my issue..
  • .I have put the brown and yellow window lock wires together (as the butchery pic shows)
  • got a new switch for my passenger window (which does now let the window down but not up as the issue was before but only from the passenger side, not working from the driver door switch up or down.
  • the lock switch works on the passenger door BUT here is the ODD thing...the lock switch works from the drivers side on the passenger door ONLY when the key is not in, when I put the key in and turn it to on or acc it does not work the lock on the passenger door. It does work other locks. What in the hell, I am not electrical handy so my brain hurts
  • I was able to pull the connector on the passenger door and do the drill battery hot wire into the plug and get the window up, so I assume the motor works.
My plan is actually just roll the passenger window up and not use it but figured I would try and fix it with someones help.
Thanks anyone for advice
