I have been looking for some new rims and i have found some but idk if they will fit or not can you guys help me out with that and how big of tire can i go with out have to lift the truck more then Howlers 3" Coil spacers. Im not looking for getting anything like mudders i just want some nice a/t's

Yeah, either will work. The first ones will stick out a little farther with the 3.25" backspacing compared to the 3.75" backspacing on the second one. I currently run 15x8, 3.75" backspacing w/ 31x10.50 and it works well.

 

yeah, they'll all fit. the first set with 3.2 inch backspacing will set the tires out pretty far. giving you a nice wide stance. but without cutting, may make the tire rub on the back of the fender at full turn.

the second one, with 4 inch backspacing, will keep the tires inside.

the third set, with 3.75 backspacing are the most common backspacing for jeeps. they will stick the tires out just a bit, making it look nice.

as for tire size, a 15x8 rim will hold any width tire you want, with the 3 inch spacers and stock fender, i say no more than a 31x10.5 at or mt.

On offsets the lower the number numerically the further out it sticks from the wheel well, the higher the number numerically then it goes inside the fender well further..you want a backspacing from about 4.5-3.75 any number smaller then 3.75 the tire will stick out to far. The concept is the lower the numerical value the further away from CA's, coils, and such so the rims won't rub on them.

 

Oh also if you plan is just 10.50 tires go with 15x7's if you plan on 12.50 or bigger in the future go with 15x8's.. I am going to be running 11.50's on 15x7 rims.

 

i was wanting to do like a staggered fitment with 8 wide in the front and 10 wide in the back but i didnt know what size rims i would need with back spacing and offset. I have never really understood how that crap worked lol

BTW you may need additional fender trimming to stuff 10" rims under the rear.

offset is this. take the rim width, minus the backspacing equals offset.
think of an 8 inch rim. with 4 inch backspacing. the offset then is 0.
8 inch rim with 3.75 inch backspacing equals .25 inch negative offset.
8 inch rim with 4.5 inch backspacing equals .5 inch positive offset.

offset is not as important with jeeps, as our fenders are high enough as to not rub the lip.

backspacing is what we really care to know. the lower the number of backspacing, the more the wheel will stick out.

to measure backspace, take the rim, lay it facedown, take a straight edge and lay it across the rim bead. then take a ruler and measure from the mounting surface to the straight edge. that is backspacing.

stock wheel is usually 15x7 with 5 inch backspacing, so that would be 1.5 inch positive offset.
