Will 31x10.5's rub?
I'm looking to get a second set of rims and tires for my XJ but I want to make sure they'll fit. Right know I have 31x10.5's but the rims I have do have offset. The new 31x10.5's are on stock xj rims. Will I have any rubbing issues with my 3" Rough Country lift?

I cant tell you about stock wheels or rubbing
But I have 33x12.50-15s on some Cragar 15x8s
and I have them on a 3.5 Superflex lift from Rubicon Express
I dont have any issues with rubbing except for when I try to back out of places and the wheel turned
oh and they back tires rubbed once when I caught some serious air

i had 31s on mine with no lift. it rubbed like crazy but its possible so i doubt you should have trouble with a lift. then again, i cant say for sure since the offset could be different or something

i have 31x 10.5's on a set of stock rims with only a 2.5 budget lift. only time i have any issue with rubbing is with the wheel cocked hard left, right front rubs a little. but like i said that is with the wheel cranked all the way... depending on what your doing with it though, i think the fender may need to be trimmed a bit

Thanks for all the input. I'll probably go ahead and buy these because it doesn't sounds like too much of a problem.

if the tires are 31x10.50 R15 and the wheel is a 15 inch wheel then yes it will fit. what size wheel do u have? stock is 15 inch usually, different with the newer ones though.

i would believe that 31's on stock suspension would rub, that also depends on the offset wheel you have. i have 3 inch lift with 31x10.50 BFG A/T with a mickey thompson classic lock wheel and they rubbed until i trimmed the fenders a crap load and put on some bushwacker flares, and raised the back with a 1.5 inch shackle, they will still rub if i get in a bad bind.

i dont know the offset number on the wheel from memory but i do know that with my stock rims the tire didn't stick outside of the factory fender flare, the mickey thompson wheel stuck out about 3 inches outside of the factory flare and are dead even with the bushwacker flares, so my tires/wheels are spread out alot more than they were with the stock wheels/rims. thats why i rubbed, it used to flex and go inside the fender well, now it flexes and interferes with the flare/metal. (fixed now though)

To the OP, with your 3 in of lift you should be just fine with the stock wheels as most others have said, but you will probably rub a little. They have about 5" maybe 5.25" of backspacing, most after market wheels have anywhere from 3.25-4.75" the lower the number the wider your wheelbase will be, farther out your tires stick... etc... so going with a wider tire than stock (215/75/15) on stock wheels, could cause some minor issues, but nothing major.
