Default Whoopsie bolts

Hey all,

So I got recently did a rebuild on a 242 T case. The Heep is driving around fine albeit a new leak in the front differential. Anyways, I was cleaning out my garage today and found this pile of 6 bolts that may be from my ‘87 XJ. NORMALLY, I’m good about keeping track of my nuts and bolts with a tackle box but I can’t for the life of me think of what these came from. I can take them to a hardware store to see what thread pitch they are but a 10mm socket fits on the heads so they’re probably 8x1.25 if I had to guess. I remember using my 10mm socket a fair amount when I was taking the T case out but didn’t see anything that was obviously missing when I checked it over again tonight. Just by looking, does anyone have any idea where these bolts belong? There’s a chance that they are ones I cleaned out from the inside of the Jeep when I bought it so they may have nothing to do with the T case rebuild.

Nah, they’re way too small unless there’s another set somewhere that I’m forgetting about. Amazon has a bolt that looks to be the same from Omix (linked). The description says rear bumper, shock mount, and spring tr.

M6x1.0. Those things are used all over the damn place on a Jeep.

If you're still researching them you might want to do that. Looking at the parts lists, 87 was using SAE.

I'm doing a restoration on my '87 right now and I can tell you first hand that there is A LOT of metric hardware in these vehicles.

Yes, but most engine hardware is SAE and body stuff is metric.
