Default how important are u bolts?

So I was helping my friend with his Cherokee and I noticed his u bolts and bracket were loose bolts were bent so I couldnt tighten them much. I told him to get some new bolts right away. I asked him about it the other day and he told me he was just going to get a bigger lift kit with his tax return and that it would come with u bolts im right in thinking he should do it now right?

You mean those things that hold your axle to your vehicle? Not very important.

Yes their important they hold you leafs tight to the axle and they also keep the axle from moving forward, backwards and side to side. The only other thing keeping the leaf spring connected to the axle is that little nub the leafs sit on.
