Default Where should I put my can of Seafoam?

My rig needs an oil change so I figure I'll Seafoam it before I change it. Which places should I put it in? Can you be more specific than the can? Also what are your opinions or experiences with this stuff? I'm putting it in my 90 with 140k miles

There's a vacuum like that goes from your intake to your brake booster. Remove it from your brake booster and pour it slowly in there. On my XJ, a 96, my intake manifold actually has a little nipple thing on it. Looks like a brake bleeder almost. But there's a rubber cap on it. I can actually put a hose it it and run it through there. I have had good success with seafoam. I actually do a full tune up afterwords. As in plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Reason being I have read that seafoam can foul plugs. So I always do it right before I plan to do a full tune up. Always works. Pour about 1/3 of the seafoam bottle through the vacuum line. Then shut the motor down for about 10 min. Start it back up...it will smoke. Depending on the condition of your motor it may smoke a lot...or not much. My XJ didn't smoke at all hardly. Pour the rest of the bottle into your gas tank. I also put some in my crank case about 50 miles before an oil change. I guess it breaks up sludge. Never did it on my XJ yet though. I have been using marvels mystery oil instead. That stuff works good too.

I prefer the slower but very effective crankcase cleaning that MMO provides. To me, Seafoam seems too harsh for the crankcase. Like stated by kyledye25, for the intake and gas tank, OK.
But then again, a can of BG 44K in the tank is superbly effective in cleaning your fuel system including injectors, back of valves etc.

Since I started working where I'm at, Toyota of greensburg(mechanic), I have access to BG products. Never knew of them before. But the 44k is great. Works awesome. They also have what's called MOA. It's an oil additive. Works well. A lot of people use it in the winter. Supposed to help on cold starts. But if you can find BG products they are well worth the money. They actually have Fuel Induction Service kit. Comes with a can like seafoam that goes through the I take manifold. A can for the gas tank....not 44k....but it works good. And also a little can of throttle body cleaning. Works well. Highly recommended.

Introducing Seafoam into a vacuum line can help if you are sure you have a carbon problem. If you do not have a carbon problem, I wouldn't recommend it.

A can of Seafoam in about 3/4 of a tank of gas can help optimize fuel injector spray pattern as the stoddard solvent in Seafoam helps remove deposits.

I don't generally recommend using Seafoam in the crankcase UNLESS you have an engine that has verified sludge because of lack of frequent oil changes. And if you do have an engine with a sludge issue, put a third of a can of Seafoam into the crank case, run the engine for about 20 minutes, then drain the oil. Don't drive the engine with Seafoam in the crank case. The solvent significantly reduces the lubricating qualities of your oil.....

^^that's why if I used it in the crank case it was right before an oil change. But I have used seafoam in every car I have owned. Always helped. Gas mileage improved and power was better afterwards. But I have always owned bearer cars. But took good care of them. But I do agree don't use it just to use it. Check out you tube videos. They show you how to use it properly.

I have been on the wall about how I should use it for me fuel system. I get 19-20 mpgs and my oil gets changed as it should. I'm pretty **** about the maint. On my jeep. I have 143k on her. So I think I'm. Just gonna add a can to my gas tank. I don't feel the need to put it in my eng. She runs awesome. "Nock on wood"

I put about a 1/3 of a can in the gas. I've used the vacuum line once and made an unholy amount of smoke and it cleaned up the idle a little.

I never put any sort of additive in my oil (maybe I'm overly conservative in that respect) so I have no idea what if anything seafoam would do in the oil.

Read how much you need to pour in the gas tank based off how much gas you have cause you don't want to pour a 8 dollar bottle in a full tank that is meant to be for like 10 gallons so it doesn't get diluted and wasted
