Where is my oil going ?
Hellow everone I bought a 92 Cherokee 4.0 with 155,000 on it . Its using alot oil like 2-3 quarts ever 1000 miles. The problem is I dont know where its going , its not leaking,or getting in the air filter, and I cant see it smoking while its running. I guess a rebilt motor will take its place , by the way it has a new pvc valve to, any suggestons ?

A new PVC valve, huh?
Chances are that it's only smoking while under acceleration. Mine smokes a bit but doesn't use that much oil. Did you install the oil pan drain plug, ?

Do you hear banjos?
My friend had a similar problem that turned out to be the oil pressure sending unit. It would only leak when he was driving, and not when he parked it. You may want to check that out! It is a cheap part! Unless it has been abused, that motor should still have life in it!! Good luck!!

Chould be a head gasket. CHeck your coolant and see if its a paste brown black color and try and feel it on your fingers for oil. Also are you blowing alot of white smoke out your exhaust..?
