There is a red tab on the connector. It has the numbers 13 and 85572.

Why does it have to plug in to something?
JMO: Get rid of that heater control valve before it leaves you stranded.

I figure the person before me unplugged it and forgot to reconnect. Whats the benefit to removing the heater control valve? How do you do it?

Is it for the under hood light? And the reason to get rid of the heater control valve is that is that it eventually fails and the brittle plastic breaks spilling all your coolant into the engine compartment.
