where can i get a neutral safety switch from?

Default where can i get a neutral safety switch from?

hi everyone,

my jeep has come across the common problem if the neutral safety switch failing and i need to find the part. the jeep dealer now dont sell the switch on its own and the whole gear level unit costs over £200.
does anyone know a website in the uk i can get just the switch?
it may also be called the shift position sensing unit switch.

its a 1995 4.0 auto cherokee.

is there a junk yard or pick n pull you can go to?
maybe a local tranny shop has one laying around?
or you could post a classified in the wanted section and see if any member has one to sell?

Just clean it. There are numerous write-ups on here on how to clean it.

thanks everyone - do you think this is something the dealership would do for me? im leaving the car with them to do as its the safest place for it!
how many hours will a rebuild take? they are charging £70 hour labour

I highly doubt your dealership would do it. If they did, they'd probably charge you high (3-4 hours) because it's not really an "official" procedure.
