I've gotten 15.9-20.9 and everything in between.Overall it averages out to 18.1 for the year I've had Da Heap
All stock except 235/75/15 tires,3.07 gears,5 speed,4.0
My driving's usually stop-n-go country roads about 9 miles at a time.Mostly having just enough time to get up to 55-60 and then the second I do it's time to stop or turn off,so basically always either accelerating or coasting.Just one spot where I can cruise for about 3 minutes,another for about 2 minutes
Been doing a lot more idling than I'd like since it's been cold.I sometimes start her up about 5 minutes before time to leave home,and again about 5 minutes before time to leave work.Problem is,I often end up not actually leaving work till anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour after my shift's over,so I have a 12 minute drive,but the car's often running for well over an hour
I've always had the habit of keeping the rpm's low,but after reading lots of comments here about folks not using OD and getting better mileage,I decided to try that.Yesterday's the first day I've tried it,and I just filled up yesterday too,so next fillup Ill start seeing if it works for me

Update;
I have a decent exhaust leak at the manifold (I assume it's cracked), my O2 sensors are several years old now, I've not changed plugs, wires, cap rotor or coil in many years and all of my driving is on surface streets...
I'm getting around 16mpg.

I do a mix of around 50/50 highway and city driving. I average around 22mpg with mine. Couldnt be happier, pretty good mileage for a 97 cherokee 4.0 with almost 220,000 miles.

Forgot to mention my O2 and exhaust leak situation.Exhaust leak broke loose recently,dunno if it's the gasket or header.O2 is probly original for all I know,it's rusted pretty bad,and apparently I'm missing an O2...and the cat
Only O2 I can find is up on the header,but I think there should also be 1 after the cat (?) and there's no sign of a cat either
I occasionally have a dog IN the car,but it'd still be nice to have a cat ON the exhaust pipe
I'm guessing that may very well be making her run rich
Got about 300,000 mi too,but no idea how many on the engine.PO claims it has a Jasper engine,and there's an official Jasper sticker on the firewall,but no date or mileage on it,or receipt for it,despite the huge pile of receipts dating back to when she was brand new,so who knows
Oh yeah,also has a K&N,WITH STICKER on the back window,so 50 more HP right there
2001 sport 113,000 miles, 4.0 AW4, C8.25 out back. Had it about 5 months, slowly replacing/upgrading all the parts PO had neglected. Steering, hubs, general maintainance, etc... Stock for now until spring when I can afford a lift kit. Average about 19 overall, depending on how much mud I can find to wheel around in of course!

99 XJ 4.0 5-speed, overhead console puts me at 19.4mpg. I average 24 on the highway but driving around Boston puts a big dent in the average.I do love the big slope on I-95N going into the tunnel when the realtime mpg readout on the console shoots up to 99mpg
