Default What's so bad about fram oil filters?

I've seen a few threads on here where people post not to use fram oil filters but I haven't been able find a reason why, I've always used fram on my vehicles and I've never had a problem with them. So I'm just curious about it

its mostly because of the material that is used in the filter itself and the difference in the drain back valve. fram has very bad quality in both areas,
frams filter is cardboard like with cardboard endcaps, and i believe they dont have a very good drain back valve if one at all. Someone correct me if im wrong
also youtube has lots of video comparisons with the filters cut open. check them out.

This is the first video that came up. I didn't watch it but I'm sure it explains why there are MUCH better choices than Fram. You can search through YouTube and you'll find videos of guys that disect different oil filters and explain why some are better than others.

If you dont want to drop the money on an expensive filter, Walmart started carrying Purolators for $3.27 each. They are good filters. You need an L14670 for a 4.0.
