Default whats this hose line thingy? (pictures)

sorry im so dumb...

theres a line that goes from the manifold to a thing in the very back left (looking at engine) under the hood.

idk what it is or what it does, i broke it when a socket slipped of a bolt...

Its a vaccum line for your HVAC controls and/or Evap Can Purge valve.

I've bought the hard lines from Advanced Auto in the ocrrect ID and spliced them together with rubber vaccum lines and hose clamps.

That is for your evap system,you can find it in a junkyard,I think they are the same for every xj I have seen,I would be suprised if the jy charged for it. The issue with it is removing it from behind all the wires,hoses,lines,etc.If you can find a sleeve that will fit tight and not leak I would suggest that.
